HISTORY
The Society was founded in 1985. So far over a dozen of beginning and intermediate courses have been held, as well as several specialized relaxation courses.
Excellent results have been achieved during the therapeutic course held for the patients at the Nephrology Institute in Struga in 1986. The findings are summarized in the study "Yoga as a method for Rehabilitation of Patients with Chronic Renal Insufficiency", that was presented at the Fifth World Congress for Yoga and Holistic Medicine held in Anessy, France in 1994, and at the First Yoga Scientific Conference, Science and Spirituality at the end of the 20 th century , held in Ohrid, Macedonia in 1997.
Two specialized courses were held for employees in AD "Struzanka" and AD "Struska Trgovija", as well as a specialized course for nurses at the Gynecology Unit in Struga Medical Centre. The Society has hosted two republic seminars, in 1986 and 1987, and several international seminars.
Three theoretical seminars were held as well, exploring the subject "Educational values of yoga – application in the education process" including series of lectures for the pupils at "Niko Nestor" High School in Struga. |
