BY TEACHER PAVLOS K. HASSANAGAS
This is a book on the theory of practice, a subject rarely explored in yoga literature. It presents, for the first time, the structure of the original methodology of teaching yoga established by teacher Pavlos Hassanagas. His approach reveals that each moment of yoga practice is a chance to overcome one’s limitations, an opportunity for external and internal cultivation and continuous advancement towards the state of higher consciousness.
However this is not a book only on hatha yoga. Actually it reflects the place and the role of hatha yoga in the system of integral yoga established by teacher Hassanagas. The book contains his views on the relatedness between hatha yoga and raja yoga, explanations of the subtle dimensions and effects of the techniques and reveals the role and importance of the body and the mind as instruments on the path of spiritual evolution. We hope that this book will help both yoga practitioners and yoga instructors to improve their understanding of yoga, as well as to find ways to transform the bodily practice to a spiritual one. BY TEACHER PAVLOS K. HASSANAGAS
When one begins to practice yoga, one embarks on a spiritual odyssey, on a journey inwards, where Ithaca are one’s heart and soul, and the path of their refinement passes through the revelation of the invisible, of the spiritual.
The book presents the authentic manner in which teacher Pavlos K. Hassanagas interprets and teaches yoga for over 40 years. Using a comprehensible language and uncomplicated examples, he explains the philosophical dimension of yoga, the spiritual development of any yoga practitioner through the synthesis of different types of yoga and, above all, talks of the possibility to integrate this complex knowledge in everyone’s life. This book is intended not only for yoga practitioners, but for everyone who seeks and asks, because the teacher is addressing our heart rather than our mind, attempting to evoke the intuitive, higher part inside us. We hope that after reading it one will not remain unchanged, that this will be a book that readers will return to many times for new insights and better understanding of themselves.
